Pipeline Purge - Liquid Displacement (Demo)

Nitrogen displacement purging and pigging is commonly used for decommissioning long-distance hazardous liquid pipelines. As the nitrogen gas pushes pipeline pigs through the line, liquid contents can be purged with ease. This calculation tool can be used by pipeline engineers to develop purge work procedure, select suitable Nitrogen pumping equipment, plan nitrogen transportation logistics, and determine total nitrogen volume required.

Notes :

  1. User may set nitrogen pumping rate and pumping time based on the capacity of the nitrogen pumping units.
  2. Nitrogen injection pressure shall be less than the Maximum Operating Pressure at any time.
  3. Nitrogen injection pressure shall exceed minimum purge pressure at any time.
