Slurry Deposition Velocity
Extended studies have been done on solid settlement of slurry mixtures, however there is no general method or formula to determine the deposition velocity of all slurry combinations. One typical study done by Durand with sand-water suspensions can give us a very approximate guide for us to determine the slurry deposition velocity. This calculation tool has adopted Durand's method and also the experimental coefficients. Please note that the design velocity obtained using this tool might be very conservative for a lot of real-world slurry pumping systems. If a precise deposition velocity is required, results should be obtained by experimentation or other commercial benchmarks.
